The Google Scholar search box on the library website is set up to authenticate off campus users so that they can view Miami University Libraries' full text subscription holdings. Google Scholar sometimes interprets this off campus access as an "unusually high amount of traffic" and then blocks access for several days.
The Libraries are working on a solution but until we can address that issue, the best workaround is to go straight to Google Scholar online (instead of through the library's website) at https://scholar.google.com.
If you are seeing the following error when using Google Scholar:
Try the following workaround:
- Go to https://scholar.google.com.
- Click the Menu icon in the top left next to "Google Scholar".
- Click Settings.
- Click Library Links.
- Type Miami University into the search box and hit enter.
- Check the box next to "Miami University Libraries - Find It @MiamiOH".
- Click Save.
This will allow you to continue seeing the "Find it @MiamiOH" link on Google Scholar search results even if you haven't authenticated through the library website.
