The maximum number of items that can be checked out varies by patron type:
- Faculty / emeritx faculty, and graduate students: 999 items
- Undergraduate students and staff: 200 items
- Affiliated patrons of the library (Oxford): 20 items
- Friends of the library (Hamilton / Middletown: 5 items
